Turning Point State Health Plan

The Oklahoma Turning Point Council (OTPC) is pleased to provide you with two documents related to the challenges Oklahoma has with transforming its health system. The first document, “Fundamental Problems Accounting for Poor Health Status” outlines key factors that contribute to Oklahoma’s poor health outcomes. These factors are categorized into six major areas – societal/culture, education, poverty/economic development, low priority on prevention, access, and health financing/administration and quality.

The identified factors in the six categories of the Problems document laid the foundation for the second document, “Fundamental Solutions for Solving Our Poor Health Status.” With this document, long-term and short-term solutions and action steps are recommended, again within the six major areas previously identified as critical when addressing the transformation of Oklahoma’s health system and health status.

We invite you to review these documents carefully, and identify areas where your organization might have an impact on policy, legislation, or advocacy for implementing some of the recommended solutions and action steps.
